Borderless Creatures - Hybrid Concert Series / Practice Lab

Borderless Creatures – Hybrid Concert Series / Practice Lab brings together 15 female musicians from 11 countries whose artistic practices are rooted in string and related acoustic instruments, including violin, viola, cello, oud, harp, qanun, bandura, double bass, hurdy-gurdy, and kamancheh. Across three curated concert evenings on 1, 15, and 29 October 2026 at Galiläakirche Berlin, the artists present original solo and duo performances spanning electroacoustic, contemporary, and experimental music. Through electronics, live looping, improvisation, extended techniques, and computer-assisted music, they open new sonic spaces beyond the instruments' conventional roles. Alongside the concerts, 6 practical workshops explore Ableton Live, wellbeing in music practice, extended string techniques, Iranian contemporary music, microtonality for strings, and fair pay for musicians, creating opportunities for artistic exchange between performers, participants, and audiences.
